How To Find A Niche For Your Online Business

Find a niche. A Perfect Way To Start Your Make Money Online Business

Find a niche. This is the perfect way to start your make money online business. Knowing where to start is usually the hardest thing for new starters.

What is a Niche?

A niche is a specific market or segment of a market that you can target with your business. Take many factors into consideration when choosing a niche, such as your interests, skills, and the needs of your target audience.

What really matters is to choose a niche that you’re passionate about. You get extra energy when you’re passionate about your niche. You get motivated to do more and it’s easier to create content, products, and services that people want.

I know your ultimate goal is to make money online blogging. Find a niche first before you start doing anything else.

Your blog will go through stages shown on the diagram above. Most bloggers find choosing a niche the most confusing part of a blog life cycle. I am here to guide you through.

The reason finding a niche is easier

To find a niche is easier than you thought. It boils down to something you can grow, stick to, and monetise at a later stage.

This gives us a clear picture of what a niche is. It’s an area of interest or something you are passionate about, for instance, a hobby.

Here are a few tips to help you find a niche for your online business:

Narrow down your focus. Don’t cover everything to suit everyone on your blog. Instead, narrow down your focus on a specific sub-niche within your larger niche.

A sub-niche has more chances to stand out from the competition and attract your target audience.

Think outside the box. Broaden your imagination to come up with niche ideas that are unique and profitable, niches that people have yet to discover.

Consider failure as a learning process. As long as you learn something from your mistakes and keep going, you will achieve your set goals. You can be involved in many niches, and you can always change your niche down the road as time progresses.

No one is perfect! There are no perfect niches. It’s you who refines your niche with the actions you take and apply.

There are 5.25 billion people online and this is your potential audience. It goes to show that all niches are profitable.

Whatever niche you choose, it must be something you can write continuously on (something you blog about non-stop).

How is my blog and niche related?

The purpose of a blog is to share your thoughts and ideas with the rest of the world. However, you can’t share your thoughts randomly.

The Reason You Need To Narrow Your Focus!

To give your audience what they’re looking for, narrow down your focus (niche). Focus on a particular group of people (your audience) who are looking for a specific type of information you will provide.

That is why you have to pick a single niche so that you give your audience what they are looking for.

Who Is Your Audience?

So, it’s clear that your audience is a group searching for a specific information or service. The analogue I have used here of a group of people looking for things gives us a picture of what a niche is all about.

Everything becomes easy once you have a clear picture of what exactly you are focusing on. And you can create your blog content that’s targeted at your audience.

The Reason WRITING Niche Is Broad

Let’s say you are a writer and you choose the WRITING niche. It’s not a bad niche since it will be in line with writing, which is your area of work. The only problem with the writing niche is it is broad.

Why writing niche is a broad niche?

Looking at the subject of writing, you don’t know where to start from. Is it writing fiction you are going to focus on, or writing business reports; lecture notes?

To narrow it down, you can choose to write fiction novel niche. Once you decide on the writing genre you want to focus on, it becomes a manageable task.

Always narrow down your focus to something you feel comfortable to continue writing your content on. Remember, you write continuously, offering advice to a group of people who are in search of particular information.

The Disadvantages of Choosing a Broad Niche

In the FICTION NICHE for example, the information you will give your audience is not generic because it’s a novel written for a specific genre of fiction. Picking a broad niche like writing makes it hard to give specific information to your audience.

WRITING NICHE. Writing can mean writing anything from comedy, poem, song to lecture notes. By nature, people are born sensitive. They will sniff out something is odd about your content.

In the end, they may not trust generic information and it will be difficult to monetize your blog with no interested audience. When you specialise and narrow your focus, you will write content with much ease regularly.

Another example is writing a magazine with a Sports niche. Sports are too broad, as you can be crazy about cricket, a football fanatic, or rave about rugby.

It’s not clear whether you love competing in sports or you are more of an avid spectator. Therefore, you need to pick something suitable for a specific group. What type of sports’  Be specific. What comes to mind is cycling, football, running, Rugby, golf and cricket.

To conclude, you are better off choosing your niche from the things you are interested in or you want to develop more knowledge on. Things you know you will not run short of ideas for creating your blog content.

Later, if you decide to earn money through your blog, adhere to the following things in order to make conversions.

  • The content you create should be based on your niche.
  • You will centre your communication on your niche.
  • The products you will promote must fall within your niche.
  • You will help people with information about your niche.

The word NICHE may scare you off, but in simple terms, a niche is an area you feel comfortable to help others with information.

This is where your website comes in to help your audience with the information they are looking for and in the process earning a revenue.

Don’t think too hard because almost anything you can think of is a potential niche.

There is a wide range from your passion, a hobby, or anything you want to develop more knowledge through learning as you create more content.
