To Make Money Online Start With Goal Setting
Your journey to make money in Zimbabwe online starts with setting your goals. What is your vision? You may have a passion for working from home with your online business, but unless you set your goals, you are going nowhere. Setting achievable goals for your business is a great way to go and will boost your motivation and confidence.
Why Do People Start Businesses Online?
Several factors push people to travel the road of self-employment. Unemployment is the crucial factor that causes people to start their businesses. Instead of waiting for someone else to hire them, they are better off being their boss and starting their journey of making money online from home.
What Is Goal Setting?
In simple terms, a goal is something you are aiming for.
Goals also give you a clearly defined framework and timescale within which to work. Akdenis, C. (2015) ‘s definition is clearer. By setting out your ‘life map’ in writing, you will automatically become more focused and motivated to achieve your end ambition.’
Setting Goals Help You To Live Your Dream
Most people never take work-from-home jobs seriously, let alone have trust in them. There is a lot of scepticism around work-from-home jobs. People are doubtful if this style of operating works to bear any fruits.
We can’t blame this group of sceptics. Who knows? They may have come across businesses run from home that completely flopped. Every 9 out of 10 businesses that are run without goals will not take off the ground. And those that take off don’t survive for long because of not having goals to guide and sustain them.
Setting goals is a business tool that works similar to a compass. Your online business should be equipped with goal setting. The goals you will set will help you continually monitor progress against those goals. The moment you set your goals, your business will roll forward. This is the biggest advantage of having goals.
You will know if you are making any progress or struggling. This is very crucial for your business’s survival because you can quickly adjust certain things to make some improvements before it is too late.
To Help You Accomplish Goal Create A Target
Create targets that will accomplish your goals. Targets will become the centre of focus to leverage your time, your talent, your energy, and your activities.
If there is no enemy within, the enemy outside can do us no harm. What does this quote mean? It means if you have confidence in yourself, it will spill out to whatever you do and bring out successful results. Setting your goals is the key to boosting your confidence.
How To Set Goals And Objectives
Goals are tools for managing your business. One way of setting your business goals and objectives is by asking yourself questions. Aim to answer them as honestly as possible.
How much money would you be happy earning?
For example, I will set myself a goal of earning $2 000.0 or more every month. This benchmark will guide me to work toward achieving these set goals. However, not ALL SET GOALS are achievable. A lot of factors may come in the way to stop you from achieving your goals. People would have set themselves unrealistic goals. So, it is important to set achievable goals.
People sometimes abandon goals due to a change in circumstances, such as the business climate. Also, how much extra income people want to earn every month varies from one business person to another. Some people get contented with earning an extra £200-£500. Yet others would differ.
How much would you be ecstatic to earn?
Earning an income of six figures every month is an ecstatic dream come true. It is a target not easily achievable. More so when your business is still in it is infancy stage. As time goes on and as your business also grows, you will accomplish it.
According to The Independent Newspaper from 6 July 2017, a new study found that a person needs to earn at least £17,900 per year to meet the Minimum Income Standard. If a single person needs to earn £17,900, what more families?
How much time are you willing to invest to achieve your goals?
Remember, you have just launched a new business. A lot of things are at stake, as you need to focus on several things. Are you willing to invest your own money and work long hours for little pay or no pay? I deliberately stated no pay because not all businesses start with generating income.
Many small businesses struggle to maintain a positive net profit due to other expenses eating into their income.
Have you ever wondered why there is a lot of scepticism around work-from-home jobs? One of the contributory factors is the lack of an organisation on the part of the business owner. This is the result of operating your business without a proper plan of action.
What is an Action Plan?
An action plan is a list of tasks you need to achieve on a daily or routine basis to achieve your goals. Goals that you have already set for your business. Every business needs an action plan for it to run smoothly.
Action plans map up the way to achieve your goals so you need to come up with realistic plans. For example, resolve for the new year like I want to launch this project on 1 June 2000. Add some details to your action plan about how you are going to achieve them.
Are you prepared to sacrifice your time and lifestyle, maybe for years? Write down the nitty-gritty of your daily, weekly, and monthly activities.
- How much time are you willing to invest initially per week?
- When will you do this?
- What time will you used to follow up with contacts, etc?
Securing funding is a crucial element to running a successful business. You may need cash to start your business. Many business start-ups use money from savings, relatives, investors and bank loans. It doesn’t come easy to achieve your financial goals.
Many times, it is the culmination of hard work and making a lot of sacrifices. The more hours you invest in your business, the bigger your harvest will be. It’s as simple as that, with no shortcuts.
